Strong earthquake hits Athens, Capital of Greece with tremors felt hundreds of miles away

A magnitude 3.7 earthquake shook the capital of Greece, Athens today, Mar. 3rd, 2021, at 5:04 am local time. The epicenter was located approx. 30 km northwest of Athens at a depth of 5.0 km.

The area surrounding the quake is mountainous and not densely populated, but many people in the nearby capital of Athens could feel light shaking. Within minutes after the quake, we received multiple reports from users mostly located mostly in the western and northwestern parts of Athens.

There were also some reports of windows, doors, and other standing appliances shaking due to the quake. No damages casualties were reported.
