Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic clashed furiously as emotions spilled over in Inter Milan’s Coppa Italia quarter-final with local rivals AC Milan.
According to the British tabloid Mirror Sport, Inter striker Lukaku appeared to say “f*** you and your wife” in Zlatan’s direction after footage had shown the pair clashing, with Ibrahimovic seemingly referring to Romelu Lukaku as a “little donkey”.
The quarrel even continued after the ref had given both players yellow cards and blew the whistle for half-time … with Inter staff forced to hold Lukaku back as both teams made for the tunnel.
The 27-year-old Belgian striker was also heard saying while referring to the veteran Swedish forward : “He wants to talk about mothers? Son of a b****.”
Ibrahimovic, aged 39, continued his remarkable form this season by giving AC Milan the lead in the 31st minute with his 14th goal of the season in Serie A.
Meanwhile, both players emerged at the start of the second half with the situation apparently been calmed down, but Ibra lasted just 13 minutes before he received a second yellow card and was sent off for tripping Aleksandar Kolarov.
