I made Til Tok App for jobless and unstable people – Tik Tok founder, Zhang Yiming

The creator of the popular app used by many called “Tik Tok”, Zhang Yiming, has revealed in a recent statement that he created the app for people who were jobless and unstable.

As he opened up about his real intentions with the app, he threw a subtle shade at Indians, as he said;

“I never thought that Indians had too much of these kind of people.”

The comment sparked outrage, as many angry users took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter to start a trend tagged #TikTokExposed.

With the tag, Tik Tok users tweeted that they would stop using the app as the statement made by the founder was a “slap” to their faces.

Zhang Yiming is a Chinese internet entrepreneur. He founded ByteDance in 2012, and also developed the news aggregator Toutiao.

He also created the video sharing platform TikTok and it was launched by bytedance to international markets in 2017.

As of 2019, with more than 1 billion monthly users, ByteDance is valued at $75billion. His personal wealth is estimated at $13billion, making him the ninth richest person in China.
