Italy reports a record high number of recoveries for one day, with as many as 8,014 people having recovered in the past 24 hours, says the Civil Protection Department. This brings the overall number of recoveries to 93,245, it says in a report on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the coronavirus daily growth rate has once again increased, making up 1,444 people against 1,075 on Tuesday. The overall number of coronavirus cases in the country has amounted to 214,457.
As many as 369 coronavirus patients have died in the past 24 hours, which is more than the day before, when Italy reported 236 fatalities. Thus, as many as 29,684 people have died of COVID-19 overall.
A total of 1,333 people are in intensive therapy units, while more than 74,400 undergo medical treatment at home, in isolation.
On May 4, the country launched the first stage of relaxing lockdown rules that had been in place from March 10. In particular, 4.5 million people have returned to their work. The people have been allowed to go to parks for a walk and sports activities, and restaurants now offer takeaway services.

According to the latest statistics, over 3,700,000 people have been infected worldwide and more than 258,000 deaths have been reported. In addition, so far, over 1,200,000 individuals have recovered from the illness across the globe.
