President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the military to aid the police in flushing out bandits and armed men in and around forests in Sokoto and Plateau States were 32 villagers were killed yesterday.
He made this call through a press statement released by his Senior Special Assistant for Media & Publicity, Shehu Garba.
This is in response to the killing of 22 people in Sokoto state by armed bandits.
And ten other people killed in Bassa Local government area of Plateau State by unknown armed bandits who ravaged and ransacked villages, leaving destructions and corpses in their trail.
The statement confirms that General Tukur Burutai, the Chief of Army Staff have directed the Army Chiefs in the Sokoto and Plateau States to as a matter of urgency draft in troops to assist police men in responding to the respective attacks and bring the culprits to book.
