The Accountant General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris who was born in Kano in 1960 on the 25th of November finished his primary and secondary education in 1975 and 1980 from Dandogo Primary school and Kano Community Commercial College respectively.
In 1980/1981, Mr. Ahmed Idris attended Ahmadu Bello University Zaria for an “A Level” to obtain his IJMB certificate which fostered him ahead to fully enroll into the university in 1981. Mr. Ahmed Idris graduated from Ahmadu Bello University in 1984 with a degree in Accountancy. As a scholar and practicable accountant to be, he went ahead to Bayero University, Kano to obtain his MBA in 1989. In 2006, Mr. Ahmed Idris in Ahmadu Bello University obtain his International Affairs and Diplomacy Degrees.
Mr. Ahmed Idris who is married with children had held many positions before his appointment as the Accountant General of the Federation by President Muhammadu Buhari. Mr. Ahmed Idris had worked as Assistant Director at PTF(special) in the Finance and Accounts department, he also served in the Finance and Accounts department of NAPEP and Ministry of Police Affairs. Furthermore, Mr. Ahmed Idris also served as the deputy director in the Finance and Accounts department of the Federal Ministry of Interior and Office of the Accountant General. Mr. Ahmed Idris served as the director in the Finance and Accounts department of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Ministry of Mines and Steel Development and lastly appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Accountant General of the Federation.
